searched and found all components of e17 and chose "Customize the .info or SlackBuild" from the build menu of each part. Choose "edit SlackBuild" and add the -g as below
...
That could be why I was having problems building e17.

I'm not really interested in building these packages anymore but if you want e17 in the repository your more than welcome to modify my SLKBUILD's and submit them as your own for 13.2.

@linus72: Thank you for being so generous and for the assistance as well! Your e17 build doesn't look great...it looks EPIC! Congratulations! I hope my new distro turns out to be as polished as yours. Mine, however, will take some time since I'll be the only one to head up the project.

I just posted an article on my blog detailing the procedure for building Salix based LiveCDs with the help of SalixLive original build scripts => http://simplynux.fr/index.php/en/blog/t ... art-1.html

This should help anyone wanting to produce a professional grade LiveCD based on Salix

It will be transcribed on Salix Wiki sometimes in the next couple days. And the second and final part should hopefully be ready by next Monday.

I used Slax years ago but I never felt like it was that customisable (I just added packages to it) but you make this sound so simple I'm really considering having ago. May be I can do away with all the rescue distro's I have on my USB stick now ;).

Glad if it helps simplify things.

Anyone using SalixLive build scripts (for which we should really thank JRD) this way will have the benefit of having the live installer, liveclone, etc. work out of the box with their own variant.

And BTW, JRD is preparing a new generation of build scripts that won't be based on the LLS anymore, which will be even easier to use & will not suffer from the limitations inherent to the LLS. When it is ready, we'll adapt this how-to accordingly (or make a new one). That will probably be ready for the 13.2 series.

Great work Akuna and Salix team!

One question though; would this work on a slackware -current setup or must it be a Salix host system?
Thanks
