I tested the last vlc package of thenktor, and I must say that this one is a really good one.
I also tested DVB-T and it works great. DVB-S seams to have some problems though.
Concerning subtitled movie, I prefer SMPlayer who automaticaly load external subtitles better than vlc and render them better (antialiases + outline + shadow versus only outline only for vlc).
Difficult choice for me. My top list are vlc and smplayer.
