So far, I'm lovin' it :)
64 bits? Salix is 32 bits, so you can use only the half of your cpu registers :P

Suggestion: Install your Vista in a virtualbox machine and get running Salix for 100% of time ;)
Update:
Both my machines are now running Salix64 and I'm massively impressed.

I have been able to build Audacity, Avidemux, Mplayer and OGMRip on both machines :)

My other computer is a Dell Vostro 1700 laptop with an Intel 1.8 GHz CPU, 2 Gig RAM and Nvidia graphics.

Yes, I have to correct myself because Salix64 was not born as I wrote the above comment. Additionally, "half of your registers" was an ironical (or troll) statement from me. :geek:

Salix64 seems to be very fast, this is correct. :o

Just installed on my laptop,
Presario1525us, Intel Pentium 4CPU 2.40GHz, Speed 2400 MHz.
I made up my mind after reading an article in "distrowatch" about Salix an others distributions.
So far I love it, still I have to work a little more to have it as I like it. First experience with anything close to slackware.
