Do you have the complete installation on this card, means only one partition for all stuff of / (root)? How about swap space (this will slow down the card mainly and very fast).

This still won't hurt for a long time. But I'd recommend to use ext2 instead of a journaling file system. And damnagehack is right: don't use swap on the SD card.
