The fwcutter is just used to cut the firmware, you can uninstall it now if you want.

The expected location for the firmware is /lib/firmware/b43/!

If b43 really isn't solving your wireless issues then caitlyn has a help page regarding the broadcom-sta module that might serve you better [link].

I might do a slkbuild for this as well, I'll see what I can do if I get some time in the next few days.

B43 gave me no joy, however, I now am using wl.ko.

I could not get the broadcom-sta slackbuild to run on this nutbook but the same slackbuild and source ran fine and built a slackpack on a vbox salix install on my slack workstation. That install went with a default huge-smp kernel so I installed the 2.6.33.4-smp modules on this netbook copied in the huge-smp kernel to boot and edited my lilo.conf accordingly. Once up with the smp kernel and the broadcom-sta slackpack installed I had wireless working.

I haven't had this much fun since I tossed out the last winmodem :^) and maybe sometime in the future I'll see my way towards replacing the vesa driver with something that works with the paulsbo video chipset in the this machine LOL!
