Slow Progress.

I copied xorg-intel.conf from usb stick to X11 file on live cd, but cannot change ownership using your instructions. I used copy command not mv.and removed the xorg.conf-vesa.

I am the owner of the new xorg-intel file, why root:root ?
Do I need both xorg.vesa and xorg-intel files ?

I do not know under what conditions you work. If the file already belongs to root after copying, the command is redundant.

No.
The target file has the name xorg.conf after copying. If there already a file xorg.conf exists, it must be replaced by the new file.

Sorry for long hiatus, I completed your instructions and am posting the new Xorg.0.log from 14.1 live
I don't want to give up yet.

I had you proposed various tests. How do I know what tests you have done if you do not write anything specific.

Comment out the line: Comment out the line: and comment out all four lines: by placing a # character at the beginning of the lines. Then restart the X server again. What is the output to the log file now? You were already asked to put the listings between code tags. Would you please do that in the future?

I don't want to give up yet.
