nFluxOS is a real fork of Slackware. They do some things very differently than the original Slackware way. SalixOS is the best (nearly 100%) compatible distribution, it also provides much extensions to Slackware. It is due that it is based on the original Slackware package repository, in contrast nFluxOS uses own packages also for the core.globetrotterdk wrote:I just discovered nFluxOS: http://multidistro.com/
Hold on please. My plans are to create a Netinstall ISO (about 300 MB in size then), you could use it to install a minimal base system offline and then set your preferred desktop (Xfce, LXDE, KDE, etc.) on top with usage of meta-packages that will download additionally needed packages afterwards additionally from the server.globetrotterdk wrote: but perhaps it could provide some inspiration for a mini footprint Salix OS version? There are both Ubuntu, Debian and Slackware based versions.

At the moment, I can only provide a very ugly hacked rudimentary ISO to install a minimal Xorg system without any desktop - a truncated "basic" system if so wanted to understand it.
Let me know if you are interested in that file, so I will share it.
