Censorship; incredible (working root ...)

@ ray:
Thanks for your moderation. I am very much knowlegeable and familiar with some of these issues. We have debated them too. We are in a communication process.

I am not trying to aggress anyone. This is not my intent. Debates have been going on on that matter on other forums. A lot of finger muscles were built on it, and with sometime a different consensus, see:

http://www.slax.org/forum.php?action=vi ... t=neophyte

At some point it could be a question of philosophy.

I will no more address that issue on this forum, it seems that the philosophy about this issue is quite clear.

You will be very happy to hear no more about me for some time. I will read and work it out on my own, and make myself small and unconspicuous.

I still believe that this distribution is great.

Unluckily for you (and here my tone is with 'humour' and not sarcasm), you could be stock with me for a long time. Lets see how we can tango together.

Nota bene for pwatk:

Slax is designed to be a live system not an installation so every time you reboot your system it's back to it's original state!

Have a look at these please, for some kind of more informed statement about slax:

The salix live cd would have been impossible without the father of the live cd. He is Tomas M. also the creator of slax (however slax is nothing without linux and Salix, etc. etc. ). See the slax.cfg file in the boot folder of the slax cd and one of many alterative procedure to save the data:

Install Slax on Hard Drive and permanently saving changes:

NB(2):

Wow, I just realized that you have a censorship comitee. You should read on Produsage. Linux is GPL. There is a need for a good psychologist, which is for true my expertise.

Hmm... Real censorship would mean that you certainly wouldn't be able to post this or even be around.

Simply, if you ask for counsel or help, you can't be choosy & touchy about the answers you get. Plus, double (or triple) posting just to get your point across is considered pushy & rude, which will only attract pushy & rude answers in return. As you logically did.

So if you really do like this distro & plan to be around for a while as you say, please restrain from this non-productive kinds of posts & lets please go on to something more productive. ;)

Closing topics is no censorship. Deleting topics would be censorship. But even then: this is a private forum and the admins decide what they want to have it here.

Thomas.M never intended Slax to be installed to a hard disk in the traditional sense. A frugal install is still running as a live system and the archive you create for persistence can always be discarded or bypassed to bring you back to a clean system. I'm not saying a proper hard disk installation is impossible just not part of the design.

In fact, I used Slax for many years and had a small partition devoted to Slax so I could compile packages without booting the live cd. I still created a regular user to use whilst I was in that environment mostly because I didn't want to nuke my installation doing something silly after I'd spent so much time setting it up (there were no pretty installers then). I even had a package to populate /etc/skel.
Unluckily for you (and here my tone is with 'humour' and not sarcasm), you could be stock with me for a long time. Lets see how we can tango together.
Hardly unlucky, I love a good debate :D ;) .
