install multimedia codecs is missing in 64 bit basic install

hello.
i have 64 bit Salix basic install with xfce.
Want to listen to some music vid on utube so installed gnash via gslapt to overcome flash in 64 issue.
But i don't see install multimedia codecs under multimedia in salix menu.
did i skip over an option during installation?
If for some reason it is just not listed in my menu, can I just run the actual comand (script) to install the batch of codecs even tho it isn't listed in menu?
Also would installinf Opera which has html5 (?) accomplish the same thing as gnash?
Is there a 64 bit opera for salix ? it doesn't show in gslapt.
thanks in advance if someone knows about these questions.
