hmmm, I did that and still get "can't 'initialise' Xv output" (twice),plus it breaks VLC if I change it to something other than Autodetect. I think I'll just stick with VLC seeing it works.gapan wrote:You don't change it in parole only. You change it for all gstreamer apps. Install the gnome-media package if you don't have it already and run gstreamer-properties.
Thanks, I'm glad I'm not the only one. I did exactly the same thing.wayne wrote:I saw similar issue when I installed Salix 13.1.1 64-bit version on AMD64 computer.
After successful installation, I install multi media codec, and I see that no media could be played using Parole, the message is can't 'initialise' Xv output
So I thought I did it wrong, I then update the everything. Still the same can't initialise Xv.
Then I installed VLC, luckily all my media playing worked perfectly with VLC.
In the past I do not have this can't initialise Xv output problem when I install various 32-bit version on a few computer.
