Hi,
I'm taking a class on linux. As part of the class I installed the live version of salix to a usb thumb drive. I can boot to the OS just fine but the keyboard and mouse don't work. Is there a config file that needs to be modified? I'm new to linux so please respond with easy instructions
thank you,
Lanna

Hi Lanna, welcome to Salix
In order to better help you, could you tell us:
How did you install Salix Live to the USB Key? Did you use LiveClone or the script install-on-usb from Linux or from Windows? Or any other ways?
Also which edition? Xfce or Lxde? or KDE?
Also did you try booting your usb key on different machines or just one?
Tx.

Hi,
I've tried both live distros. I used unetbootin from windows to install to USB. I've tried on 2 different computers with different keyboards and mice. I'm using standard US keyboards and standard optical mice.
thanks,
Lanna

unetbootin is not compatible with salixos live, this could explain your problems.
From Windows, you could simply copy the content of the iso to your USB key & then run the script install-on-usb.cmd.
Or if you burn the ISO image to a CD-ROM, you could easily use the GUI utility LiveClone to generate a Live USB Key.
The following guide could be helpful. Look specially at the end for the section regarding the USB Key:
