I'm trying to use pitivi to alpha-blend two videos in order to make this kind of stuff:



But whenever I set the video opacity lower than 100%, all I get from the video previewer is a pitch-black screen!



Has anyone successfully edited a video on pitivi with those alpha-blending features?

No, it doesn't work here either. I'm not sure this is supported in the version we have. If you look at the changelog for version 0.13.5 (http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/sources/ ... .13.5.news) you'll see that it mentions crossfading transitions. You can try upgrading to that, but gst-python, gnonlin and gstreamer might need to be upgraded too.
