Hi,

After successful install of salix64 xfce edition i encountered a problem
with fonts - every character looks like a square ! It happened immediately
after the installation - i do not know hot to solve this. Please help.

In the console after CTRL+ALT+DEL (X restart) - there are some
error message complaining about Pango

THIS IS NOT THE EXACT MESSAGE:

"This probably means there was an error in the creation of:
'/etc/pango/pango.modules'
You should create this file by running pango-querymodules."

creating the file do not solve the issue !

Weird. Could it be a bad download?

There is a script /etc/cron.daily/housekeeping. Switch to a console with Ctrl-Alt-F2 and run it as root. Restart X and see if it works then.

I'm wondering why you had that problem. Did you have any errors or other weirdness during installation? I just did a fresh installation myself just to check it out and it worked fine.

There were no errors during installation. I installed salix from USB, so
maybe it was a problem with usb (as you pointed out earlier)...

It's not your problem! It seems there was a problem while uploading the file! The md5sum I get from the downloaded iso, is not the same as the original one. I'm sorry about this, a corrected iso is being uploaded now, but it's going to take a couple of hours.
