Hi! I just installed vlc and was wondering how I can set global to use vlc instead of the removed whaawmp & exile. Also how to fix this message everytime I switch to root-bash Would really appreciate your help here!

Ps. Does anyone know where a document is being copied when the cp-command-target is defined as "/~" (it was copied with root but sadly to say the "/root" directory is empty...

I'm guessing you're using lxde.

Isn't it used anyway? In any case you can right click any file of the filetype you want to associate, go to properties and change the application you want to have it opened by default.

Did you remove midori? You can chmod -x /etc/profile.d/lxde.* if you have.

You created a file named "~" in your /.

thanks a lot for your input! I was just wondering if there's any global-file who's in charge for all the linkings between data and programms...
