Well, as you've guessed it, im having a printer problem.

Using the manage printer thingie in the system tools, i logged in as root, and, successfully installed my printer.Problem is, it wont print anything.

I've opened up a terminal, started the cups service, but it still wont print.

Ideas?

Any old job blocking the queue?

In Cups printer manager you have a Jobs tab where you can cancel jobs one by one, or else directly in the Printers tab click on your printer in the Maintenance list menu, choose the option cancel all jobs.

When you have cleared all printer jobs, ensure your printer is not on pause but on "iddle, accepting all jobs" & try printing again.

And please try the test page thing in the cups admin panel and see if that one works.

Could it be that you selected the wrong printer when installing it?

You can set variable from http://127.0.0.1:631

Section> Administration:
1) verify print driver
2) verify set allowed users

You can view the system log? Are you sure that the directory that is responsible pids is accessible to your user?
