core install

After a fresh install of core using fluxbox installation disc i486 there are some files in roots and users home directories that are for programs not installed during a core install. It appeares that the installer is installing the same root and user settings for core basic and full. Would it not be better to have seperate root and user settings for core basic and full, putting the core root user settings packages in the core directory of the installation disc for example.
basic root user settings in the basic directory sure you get the idea. Then if core is installed you get the correct settings, if basic is installed user settings would overwite cores user settings Hope this makes sense. Salix is great by the way, well done.

I don't think that would be a good idea. After all they all go into the same directory /etc/skel or /root. Now if somebody upgraded a core install to basic or full, he would have a problem.

I know its an easy task to delete what i don't need and change /etc/skel but it would be great if the installer could apply only the settings needed for core basic or full in some way ?

I wouldn't consider this a bug, or a problem. These files are only a couple of KB in total and there's no harm in having them anyway. But, ok, we could split them for 13.2.

I also believe that it is better not to delete those files .. but in any case will be considered an alternative.

I prefer no to provide two settings packages. It will be confusing and hard to maintain to my opinion.
Better provide a script somewhere to delete these files if it is really necessary.
