Hi all,

I've just installed the Framakey Salix on the SD card of my Eeepc701.

Do you know where I could grab/download the drivers (network card, wifi, bluetooth, etc.) for the Eeepc701?

What makes you think they are not already installed/activated?

Actually I've got similar netbook. I've installed salix in LXDE version. Everything was working out of the box except webcam, which I've never really needed. What is important, the responsiveness is outstanding.

Because I cannot connect to the net via Wifi or the network cable, and the keyborad shortcuts (for volume, bluetooth, wifi, etc) don't work also.

I've installed the Framakey Salix (in french), I think that I'll need to install the Salix original version to be able to use my Eeepc.

Just discovered the Salix Framakey remix project (in French). Could be that some things are different than the original & explain the lack of functionality you described.
It seems like a great project. We'll test it out & see if we can help them iron some things if needed. It seems that they might have done it with the help of LiveClone.
Do let us know how things work out for you with vanilla Salix.

All hardware in my Samsung netbook works out of the box in Salix, but no idea about EeePC. IMHO everything should work, too.

arcturien, could you test something for me?
On the framakey-salix key, could you execute iwconfig in a terminal as root & tell me if it recognizes your wireless device? & if so, is it named differently than in wicd? (check in wicd preferences)
You can also execute ifconfig to double check your wired connection although it should have already appeared in iwconfig as a non-wireless extension.
If they are named differently(as I suspect), change the wicd preferences for your network devices' names to be the same than in iwconfig/ifconfig & refresh wicd. That should get your network going again.
