Sily newbie question?

hi people, can some kind sole tell me how to update my software packages? it is probably right in front of me but cannot find software update, many thanks.

/System/Gslapt package manager
or for the CLI
slapt-get
Salix will ask you to update automatically anyway as needed, and that takes you to gslapt.

You have two options:
1-Gslapt:
Menu>System>Gslapt
Enter your root password
Select Update, then Upgrade everything and then Apply, all from the top menu.
or
2-Slapt-get:
Open a terminal & then:
Code: Select all
su
slapt-get -u
slapt-get --upgrade
