I would like to copy additional wallpapers to the /usr/share/xfce4/backdrops folder.

Is there a superuser file manager function? I have been trying with mc (midnight commander, there seems to be permission issue). For sure I prefer gui solutions. I would like to copy the content of a folder with many wallpapers to the /usr/share/xfce4/backdrops folder.

there is krusader for kde.
But you can do what you want easily with
su
write root password
cp -R path_to_original_folder /usr/share/xfce4/backdrops

Just: Alt + F2 -> "gksu thunar"
