gdm and shutdown

Post by justwantin »

On my 13.1.2 (Xfce) installs I found that if I logged out using a right click and the applications menu I would get a popup box asking me if I wanted to log out shutdown or restart. If I selected log out I'd get gdm and if I clicked shut down in the bottom left corner the machine would not shut down. Gdm would pop back up and the only way I could shutdown was to log back in and select shutdown.

I am on an install of 13.2alpha updated to 13/02/11 and now there is no popup shutdown/restart/log out selection and the quit button in the panel does not work I haven't explored this problem much further and at present I'm using a terminal and shutdown -h now to turn my machine off.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Edit:
I've sorted out the shutdown popup in Settings > Session and Startup for some reason this didn't survive from previous install.
Merit?
None whatsoever!
