So my current Android blacklist consists of:
* Motorola (signed bootloaders in Europe)
* HTC (payments to Microsoft)

I'd love Android if I wasn't constantly reading about the various flaws and insecurities!

All insecurities I've heard of are related to malicious apps, but that is the pro and contra of a more open (compared to Apple's store) app market. It's the same like on the PC: just don't install every bullshit app

My wife's got an iPhone but once you've got over the 'ooh pretty' effect an realise it's just a Galaxy S with DRM, an integrated battery and a very restrictive OS the happy bubble bursts.

On the other hand I don't trust Google a far as I can throw them so a dodgy app store doesn't fill me with glee. I also kind of wish Google hadn't bothered making Andriod a FOSS project just to abuse the licence.

So I'm left with Blackberry which is more secure but at the cost of some features and an app store with over inflated prices.

That said, since l've got a year until my contract ends I'll try to keep an open mind and see if Google can get their shit together. I definatly won't be getting iPhone next time, that's for sure.
