Hey everyone!

I just booted my minimal install of salix with fluxbox, rearranged a few tools and came to wiki and it told me to post here first. So here i am A little bit about myself, i have been using linux for a bit less than a year but ever since i tried it, i couldn't look back at using windows. I have tried a few distros up til now and havent stayed with a single one for more than a month with 2 exceptions. First one was when i discovered slackware. The joy of doing everything by hand and the knowledge it gave of the system was amazing. Also the stability of slack was overwhelming.
The second one was Fedora and after manually doing everything it was a fresh change, repo was also nice But after trying out the latest fedora 15 i was deeply dissapointed with it and went on with my search of the perfect distro. I have been playing around with gentoo for last 3-4 days but i somehow managed to break the portage.. So i googled for a good minimalistic slackware based distro with fluxbox and here i am

So far distro looks amazing so hoping it will be even more awesome with time

p.s. can i have access to wiki now?

edit: oh, i wanted to mention but forgot. Love it how this section is called "Useless talk". Nothing can be more than true

Hi Zappus and welcome to Salix,

Are you actually saying that you can't read the wiki unless you first post to the forum?

That seems odd. I would understand if it was before you post anything on the wiki, but not before you simply read the wiki articles.

Apparently i do have access to wiki, stupid me.

I have played around with Salix for a little bit by now and must say that is awesome! I was wondering if you guys have and IRC set up somewhere. I haven't tried searching for it yet, so most likely i will find it within 10 min

Anyhow, amazing distro, looking forward to using it for a loong time
