Wow, this is awesome! I'm running Salix from the LiveCD for the first time.

Sound works, yay! No stupid PulseAudio to work around, yay! Midori hasn't crashed yet, yay! (It crashed all the time in Xubuntu but so far so good)

LXDE looks very cool! It has been over a year since I've played with LXDE but it looks really cool in Salix. Yay!

One thing I need to know before I install it though: I can't seem to add a printer, and Salix isn't "talking" to my HP F380 all-in-one printer/scanner/copier. I didn't see a "printer installer" in the menu, but CUPS takes me to a web interface. Very nice! Do I need to be root to add the printer?

Anyway... this useless post is just to celebrate my first run of Salix from the LiveCD and the fact that Midori still hasn't crashed, lol. Ordinarily it would have already crashed at least once in the time it has taken me to write this useless post, lol.

Yaaaay!

Ha!

Newbie kid figured it out all by my little self! Got the printer goin,' got this wicked-kewl distro kickin'!

A little more reading to do and stuff to test, but if all of this works out, I just might completely switch over. No more "distro drama." Just a sweet, fast, simple, kick-butt OS for school and play.

It's the update/upgrade mystery that has me hesitating, but a little further reading will probably help me decide. Still on the LiveCD writing this. As fast as this is on the LiveCD, I bet it's absolutely screamin' fast once installed. Salix LXDE on the LiveCD is just about as snappy as Xubu is installed! Amazing.
