hello all,

Tried numerous times to install Salix Fluxbox from a downloaded install disc version.
Laptop is an Acer Inspire 5736z. 300gb hdd, 2gig ram, 2.3ghz intel 86x64 processor.

Salix brings up load screen with 2 linux penguin logos, and progress down with
attributes, then stops before ever hitting graphical stage.

It puts out this message below:

Ext3-fs (sda1):error:couldn't mount because of unsupported optional features (240)
Ext2-fs (sda1):error:couldn't mount because of unsupported optional features (240)

(Swapper,1,1):ocfs2_fill_super:1039 Error: superblock probefailed
Kernel panic - notsyncing: VFS unable to mount root fs on unknown-block (8,1)
Pid:1, comm: swapper Not tainted 2.6.37.6 #3

Need help please.

:o

Do you mean to dual boot? If not, it may be worth just repartitioning and reformatting - it sounds as though there could be something wrong here, and a clean start might fix it.

How are you booting salix? Did you install lilo? If you did, how exactly? Did you use the automatic configuration or the "expert" install?
