The Live team is proud to present the first beta version in 32 bits and 64 bits of Salix Live KDE 13.37.
KDE can't fit anymore in a 700MB CD.
The default root password is live.
You don't need a password for the regular and auto-logged in user one.
Note: For those who want to boot the livecd in a VirtualBox:
At the Grub launch menu, type 'e' when the desired line is selected.
Go to the end of the command line that contains 'linux etc....'
Add a space and this acpi=off
Then hit 'CTRL' + 'X' to launch the boot process
After installation in a virtualbox you have to type linux acpi=off to boot.
To not do this always add the line append = "acpi=off" before read-only in /etc/lilo.conf. Save the file
and don't forget to run lilo -v as root.
You can download the ISOs from here:

There is also a way to boot the LiveCD through PXE. For this, you need a special initrd. Here it is,

Please test it and report any bugs on this thread.
Enjoy! and Happy New Year

There's also a menuentry to add custom parameters in the bootoptions menu to make it easier for users not familiar with grub. By using this method you also can save such parameters among other selections for future boots. This works only when booting from a writeable media though (e.g. USB-Stick/HD works, CD /DVD doesn't).djemos wrote:At the Grub launch menu, type 'e' when the desired line is selected.
