Since I installed Salix OS 13.37 LXDE on my netbook, I have been finding it difficult to do without Radio Tray, until now. I have just discovered that cmus, another favorite of mine, can play Icecast/Shoutcast streams. The way to do this, according to the maintainer of the cmus-devel mailing list, is as follows:

the stream will show up with <Stream> pseudo-artist in the tree view.
