XFCE Power manager

I`m not sure if this was discussed here already but I have set XFCE power manager to ask what to do when Power Button is pressed. The power manager is auto-started with XFCE. However pressing the Power Button turns off the computer without asking. Isn`t this a bug? Other distros with XFCE behave as expected.

Edit /etc/acpi/acpi_handler.sh.

I don`t think so, because:

1. The other distro I use doesn`t have this file at all and the power manager works as expected
2. Why should I edit the text file if xfce power manager offers GUI dialog for configuring the actions?
3. If it is really needed to edit this file then why isn`t this file configured by default?

You can just delete the file or remove the events you don't want it to handle. No, you don't need to edit the file. Just remove the file altogether or the events you want to handle with the xfce tools.

It is configured by default. But to shutdown your computer. It even works completely independent of your DE or other software as long as acpid is installed and started. As that file is coming from Slackware there's not much one could theoretically do about it anyway.
But I think this is another case of not being able to change the default without rebuilding the Slackware package. On top of that for systems without a power manager the way it is configured is perfect. So one would need a different version of the acpid package for systems with a power-manager, which is not acceptable and might not be possible either. Are there editions with a power-manager by default anyway?

I renamed this file and voila, the XFCE power manager asks me what to do when I`m pressing the power button.
Thanks Shador, I added an entry to wiki: http://www.salixos.org/wiki/index.php/M ... wer_button
