Salix OS

I have a HP notebook that has a Ricoh usb web cam. Model R5U870. Pardus and Ubuntu flavors see it and it works. Have done searches of slackware package sites but found nothing.

Has anyone installed or made R5U870 work? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How are you testing if it works? You could try cheese I guess. No idea about your specific model but most webcams should work out of the box.

Hello. I have a toshiba laptop. lshw show that I have a ricoh 1180 webcam. I installed cheese from the repos and it's working fine. HTH.

cheese says it does find camera.
