Hi,
My friend bought a new laptop of DELL. So he asked me to install Salix to it. It is having Windows7 inherently present in it. So I just tried to install it using cfdisk but there I got an error message as bad primary sector 3: Move to autoinstall. So Should I completely remove Windows and then reinstall it again and then proceed with installation of Linus or Can I install Salix now with any modifications?

Please help me to sort out the problem..

Probably something wrong with the hard drive partitioning. You could probably use gparted from a live CD to create the partition structure you want and then just install salix on it, without having to run cfdisk. But backup your data before doing anything.

From my experience, do NOT touch a hard disk with software which complains about the current layout. If cfdisk says that something is wrong while everything works it probably mean that cfdisk simply doesn't support this layout.
As gapan said, GParted supports much more cases than cfdisk.
It's always good to have a CD of parted magic or one of it's kind around.
