Intro + Question

Hello. I have messed around with roughly 10+ linux distros before finding Salix, and I have to say Salix is my favorite thus far and I believe I am done searching now. I know the buntus are popular, but I just didn't like any of them. I am semi-new to linux meaning I've had some experience with the basics, but am nowhere near an expert. I installed Salix with the basic setting because I wanted to learn my way around without everything pre-packaged. This may not have been the best choice for a semi-noob, but it's fun. So, my only question thus far is how difficult is it to add flash/java plugins to firefox? Do I need to create symbolic links or is there an easier way? If not, would someone be able to run me through it so I don't screw things up? Thank you in advance.

Hi sKrave and welcome to Salix!
You only need to add the respective packages from the repositories. Search in the package manager for flash and jre. You might need to log out and then back in for jre to be recognized.

Hey Gapan
Oh yea you're right. Last night after I installed JRE and flash I didn't see them in firefox so I thought I had to create symbolic links, but they are there now. Thanks!

Oh, and do you happen to know why I'm unable to see my Windows 7 partition from Salix?

The lights come on
The set is down
The curtain's flown away
To all you creatures of the night
I say it's time we play
We'll show you things
