What's the verdict on JFS and Ext4? thanks...

One is not better than the other for all tasks. Each has advantages and disadvantages. What do you plan to do with your computer? JFS uses extremely aggressive caching, and is guaranteed to eat your data. Ext4, in my experience, is fairly stable. Use Ext4.
