One is not better than the other for all tasks. Each has advantages and disadvantages. What do you plan to do with your computer? For general home use, I see no reason not to stick with the default ext4. This review covers several use cases, but it is a little out of date. http://www.debian-administration.org/articles/388

Ext4 has given me problems with the mouse, not XFS nor JFS.

JFS uses extremely aggressive caching, and is guaranteed to eat your data. Ext4, in my experience, is fairly stable. Use Ext4.
