[SOLVED] Mess-up with libpng
Posted: 14. Aug 2012, 04:07
gslapt has been bugging me to upgrade to libpng-1.4.12 which for whatever reason
I could not open giving errors not to use md5sum and another I forgot.
I then downloaded libpng-1.4.12 and upgraded on terminal only to find out too late that
the file was a patch with no files. It wiped-out all libpng and related files with the result
that nothing would open anymore including gdm.
I now downloaded and installed libpng-1.4.12-i486-1.txz from slackware and cannot now open
the original gdm of salix since the the image file format is no longer recognized. That holds true
for all applications which give error when trying to open:
Guidance how to correct appreciated.
Solved:
downgraded to libpng-1.4.5
