Hi,

I believe you can use 32 bit on a 64 bit machine. But why would you?
Also, one easy way to find out for sure would be to try it - Live if you like.

Use 32bit. Less problems with skype, flash and wine.

I strongly disagree with witek. 64-bit is the way to go. I have no problems with Flash or Skype (which I rarely use). I can't speak to wine because I don't use it.
What I do get is superior performance when doing anything that requires a lot of memory or stresses the CPU. This could be anything from video rendering to anything that does a lot of number crunching. Those interested in gaming will also see a nice jump in performance running 64-bit. For web browsing or sending e-mail it doesn't matter, of course.
The bottom line is that if you want to take full advantage of your system's processing power you can't do it with a 32-bit OS.
