Hi,

Ralvex, the guy behind http://salixos-fr.org/ and http://www.salixbang.org/, is working on packaging Cinnamon and Gnome-3.4 for Salix-14.0.

Please help him and, by the same way, salix, by testing the packages and reporting bugs, suggestions, tips here.

Ralvex test repo can easily be added in slapt-get/Gslapt, and, for now, you will only be able to test i486 pkgs.

For the moment is not fully functional (few problems with folks and pulseaudio's pkg).

How to:
Add this repository in your slapt-getrc's files with "CUSTOM" priority and install all packages named **.slxbg_rlvx., gnome-icons-theme gnome-themes-standard (from salix'os repos) and reboot.

I will make various "meta-packages" for easier the installation: Meta_gnome-core (with essential programs) , Meta_gnome-desktop (with full gnome programs),Meta_cinnamon-core and Meta_cinnamon-desktop. (Even though I know it is not in the politics of salix :p).

Gnome-shell not launch at login, please type "gnome-shell --replace" in alt+f2 dialog box.


For cinnamon please still wait

Not unless you're willing to build everything that needs.

I have trying with cinnamon-2.0 without success. :/
