I am having a lot of trouble setting up Sakis3G. I think I did every step in the instructions, but when it comes to running, I get this: /tmp/9menu.5737: No such file or directory. in the terminal.

http://linuxconfig.org/mobile-broadband ... nd-sakis3g, there is the page for the steps I followed to install sakis3g. When I plug in the USB modem, and type
in the terminal, I don't see the modem. When I run sakis3g and try to connect, it detects the modem that is MF192 but displays
. I am new to the linux world and slowing moving from windows, these USB modems are my easiest way to connect to internet since I live in Africa. Thanks for your help!

Have a look at
http://www.sakis3g.org/wiki
though it may not be much help. Several people have had trouble getting these to work with Salix. Maybe the actual hardware is not supported, in which case a script like this won't help, because it can only work with the material it's got.
I'd also be nervous using it without understanding exactly what it's doing. There is an option to "dissassemble" the script, but it didn't work for me.
The way to solve this is to first establish exactly which hardware you have and then painstakingly research the problem - search this forum for '3g' and 'Sakis' and you will see how far others got. People on the forum will try and help; and maybe someone has exactly your hardware, and managed to get it working.
It's possible a more recent kernel will just solve everything. One way to test this is with Slackel, which is basically Salix with recent KDE and kernel. Live CD here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/slacke ... kde-4.8.2/
