hi folks!
how to add salix to debian's grub2?

how to add salix to grub2...
Re: how to add salix to grub2...
Salix uses lilo, but you can skip it at installation. So you have to setup your debian grub afterwards.

I don't think you will need a tutorial. Just follow step by step

The installation is quite straightforward. Just select to not install lilo when you are prompted for that and after you finish the installation edit you grub configuration files in debian to add salix.
Re: how to add salix to grub2...
Afaik debian's grub2 should be able to pick any installed OS up during an update-grub run using os-prober. If the os provides a lilo.conf, grub.cfg or menu.lst, it should be recognized by linux-boot-prober (distributed alongside os-prober) and the menuentries are used for the Debian grub2 menu.
This works fine here with Salix and Zenwalk.
To create a lilo.conf without actually installing the bootloader, I told lilo it should install to a floppy disk, though I had none. Yes, it's a bit hacky, but it worked.

update-grub in a terminal (and sudo with Ubuntu) did the trick. Thank you very much.
