It's the kernel slackware 13.0 comes with and it's fine and stable. If you want a newer kernel you can always compile it yourself.

The only reason for running a newer kernel is if you have some new hardware that is supported in a later version but not in 2.6.29.x. Just because there is a newer version doesn't mean there is any advantage to you in installing it. Slackware does provide patched kernels if there is a security vulnerability so you are covered in that area. Don't fall into the trap of upgrading just because something newer is out if there is no advantage to you. If there is a bug in the newest kernel what you get is breakage rather than improvement. To quote an old saw: "If it ain't broke don't fix it."
