I don't really undestand what the problem is or what driver you're trying to install. Drivers for you graphics card are already installed and used.

I'm assuming you are saying you have an Intel graphics chip from the topic. You need to tell us which Intel graphics chip in order for anyone to help you. Marketing literature about your PC doesn't help.

You can tell what kind of video card you have by opening a terminal window and typing:

Code: Select all

/sbin/lspci | grep VGA
If you post the output here we'll know which model of Intel graphics you have.

Can you adjust your monitor resolution from the GUI? Click on the Salix menu (lower left) -> Settings -> DIsplay. Can you select the proper resolution there? If not, what resolution is the maximum there and what were you expecting?

If not, open a terminal window and type:

Code: Select all

xrandr
Is the resolution you want listed at all? If not then you may indeed have a driver issue, either the wrong driver selected or else the autoconfiguration done by X came out wrong.

Anyway, try what I have so far and let us know how things work out for you. If you need more help the output of lspci will be critical to fixing the problem.
