When you say not working ....
Do search the Salix forum for these too, if you haven't already.
I'm not sure but I think these may be available from Sourcery / slapt-src (q.v. in the Startup Guide). But maybe that was what you tried.
Anyway, welcome to Salix

Hello...
You need more details on what exactly isn't working... Try opening skype/chromium from the terminal and post any error messages you get back.
One guess: Are you using 64bit version? If you are, then Skype won't work unless you install multilib (Search through documentation on how to do this), because Skype is a 32-bit software.
I don't know about chromium...

I tried to get Chromium and Rhythmbox installed via Sourcery, and they didn't compile. I'll have to hunt down the log files, for an exact issue with each, but I do know that libpeas didn't install because it was looking for gkt-doc, and I didn't see gtk-doc in either GSlapt or Sourcery.
- I'd like to figure out how to get things installed from Slackbuild.org too, so if I run into problems, I can figure them out, or install from there. I've been in the Linux Mint world, and it's not so CLI centric.

Hi.
I had to install mozilla-nss and yasm in order to get Chromium (Slackbuild from SBo) to compile (still compiling) on a rather fresh Salix64 14.0 install. There might be other missing deps for you as well, as I've installed a few additional packages to the system.
