Hi,
I just installed Salix 14.1 xfce, and got everything setup and working perfectly. Then last night I suspended my computer, and then this morning when I went to unsuspend it, it was off.

So after turning it back on, it said this was my first time logging in, and and asked me if I wanted to use the default panel, or some other choice. I chose the default, but now my desktop looks like a regular xfce desktop without the settings for salix, or my modifications. Also most icons in the menu show red X's instead of the icon.

I hope there is an easy way to get my desktop back...

I created a new user, and it works fine, so it must be something I did with this user....

One way to revert the user to the default salix settings, is to delete
the user (without deleting the home directory) and then just recreate
him. You can do that using usersetup from a root console (Ctrl-Alt-F1 to
get one).

Thanks. I was copying some stuff from my previous install into my .config file. I guess I messed something up. Luckily I made a backup of my .config file, and just moved it back, then carefully copied what I wanted, and now it is working.

I thought about deleting the user, and creating it again, but I had already moved a lot of files into its home directory, and didn't want to start over (I didn't know if deleting the user would delete the home directory for the user. It is good to know it in the future that I can delete the user without deleting the home directory.

When you delete a user, you get the option to delete files. That is an option, you don't have to do it, and it's not done by default. So there is no risk for your files.
