[done] Burning a CD/DVD

Scenario:
1. Put a cdrw into burner
2. Cancel automatic ask if burn something because of inserted a blank medium.
3. Click "burn with xfce" in context menu of an iso file.
4. Wait for completion of burn process.
5. System freezes after burn completed.

It seems that it has something to do with the automount feature that locks the tray and then system freezes because of a deadlock maybe, trying infinitely to open the tray.
I deactivated automatic mount of new hotplug devices.

EDIT: I do not think that the burner is broken cause the product is okay and usable after a hard system reset.

EDIT: cdrecord works directly from terminal. So I guess I am right with some problem with X applications or HAL or something like that... :?

Does it happen with Audio-CD, too? I don't think Audio-CDs are auto mounted.

PS: Automount sucks   :P

Not tested yet. I am burning so less audio....

I know, and I said I have disabled it with the same result. And I remember that we have discussed about this feature in past already.

Could it be a problem of HAL?

pardon the off topic but audio cds won't get mounted ever because they don't have a file system structure to mount!

But you could enable autoplaying :? (option in XFCE mount settings dialog)

But auto mount is not the problem here. I've missed that he already has deactivated the auto mount thing.

To be honest, it happens only if a cd or dvd was burned. Normal mounting works just fine. And as said also, the cd or dvd is completely okay after doing a hard hardware reset cause of complete system freeze.

It's a hardware or kernel problem. Nothing else can cause a system freeze.

Can you read? ;) I know you only want to help, and I am glad that it is in that way, so no problem.
