audio CD converting and drive access

Hi there,

I am trying to make a copy or better convert into mp3 of a regular music CD.
We have bought a music CD but my wife wants to have the files on her mp3 player (or phone).

I had so far no luck and probably not the right tool to do so.
Installed are: Audacious, Exaile, Parole, VLC media player and Whaaw! .
It seems that only VLC is offering to convert but I have not found a way to make VLC grab the audio tracks from that CD.

I am running Salix 14-64bit, with all regular updates.

Moerover, after those failed attempt on this CD, I can unmount the CD and eject it, but then the drive is blocked and will even
not open on the eject button on the front panel.
I need to restart the machine.

Any clue or hint how to get to what I need?

Thank you in advance.

asunder is what you're looking for. It comes installed by default in full installations.

Gapan,

yes, indeed. I was a bit too fast posting here, sorry!

I just started asunder and it does exactly what I was looking for.

However, I am still curious to know why the drive gets blocked..

Thank you!

No sure. Something is still using it maybe?

Try

Code: Select all

eject
from a terminal.
