I'm unable to find a GUI tool to allow a user, who is not a member of the wheel group, to change their own password in Salix64 14.1.

I know several ways to change a password as root and I found the GUI tool for a wheel group member to change any password.

How about a GUI for a non-privileged user to change their own password?

Must a regular user use a terminal window to change their own password?

I don't normally use GUI tools for such things so it's probably right in front of me and I can't see it.

No, there is such tool and considering that running the passwd command from a terminal is that easy, I don't think we really need one.

I agree that that typing passwd is simple. After reading your response, I've just added a "password" alias to make it easier to remember.

I'm new to using GUI tools for administrative functions. If Xfce or Salix went to the trouble of creating a GUI interface I wanted to know about it so I could show the people for whom I'm building the Salix boxes.

I've created a few "system check" scripts for the new Salix users to check disk space, RAID status, backup status, etc. So these users will have to use the terminal to type those one word scripts.
