How can I create a Live Image for Openbox 14.1?

Hi All,

I'm pretty new to Linux.

I downloaded the MATE and Openbox 14.1 (32-bit) versions but I didn't observe at the time that the current ISO files are not Live enabled. :(

I exited the installation to the Console prompt. Is it possible to start the Desktop Environment from the console so as to be able to test these versions?

No, doesn't look like it. I tried startx but received "command not found".

Are there any ACCURATE instructions somewhere that I could follow to create a Live USB from the ISO files I downloaded?

Thanks, Michael.

As it says in the downloads page (and several other places), these are not live images. They are installation images and they can be used only to install salix (and if you know what you're doing, for recovery purposes too). There are no live images and there are no plans for having any live release for 14.1. You test a system by installing it. (hint: you can use virtualization software like virtualbox or qemu in another system to do a test install if you want).
