Users can Read & Write to /usr/src/slapt-src/

Post by zAchAry »

Users can Read & Write to /usr/src/slapt-src/ while /var/slapt-get/ is Read only to Users.

Salix 14.1 Xfce and Openbox.

Try:

Code: Select all

$ slapt-src -i andromeda

...

install/doinst.sh

Slackware package /usr/src/slapt-src/system/andromeda/andromeda-0.3-i486-1_SBo.txz created.

ERROR: You need root privileges to run this command. Try using --dry-run.
/sbin/spkg -u --reinstall --install-new andromeda-0.3-i486-1_SBo.txz Failed

Again it is consistent with users being able to compile and build packages but not install them, which requires root privileges.
