Hi,

I have problem with my graphics card "ATI RADEON HD6470M" on my NTB.
- I did download driver (http://support.amd.com/en-us/download)
- I converted to the tgz (generate for Slackware)
- I did install it.
After using of this proprietary driver, all is bad :( When I shut it down, the screen on the end is blank (dark gray) and waiting waiting waiting and nothing :-( Only Ubuntu and Fedora are good :-( But they are not Salix :-(

Can you help me, please? Thank you.

Rene

That approach didn't work because the conversion to Slackware package is unreliable - basically you may be lucky, but it's unlikely, especially in a case like this requiring some configuration steps. You probably need to "blacklist" the modult to avoid it getting clobbered.

I believe there is a solution in this forum or even the wiki - it's a problem that comes up quite often, with variations.

Hi,

all works ;-) Problem? I did install driver via procedure:

1. download driver and decompress from package.
2. convert for Slackware
3. install driver
4. restart

Problem in conversion for Slackware.

I did install from RUN package.

...
3. sh amd.....run
4. restart
5. setup with ati control center
