I need a wether app for my desktop, xfce weather plugin became inaccurate. Can't seem to get CurseTheWeather working as per instructions. Are there better alternatives.

No, noob51 is correct.
The weather app stopped working, again.
See:

It happened to by 2 machines recently - the laptop hit the issue about 2 weeks ago and now my PC as well.
Both are on Salix 14.1 XFCE 64bit.
Thanks for looking into it.

It died on my laptop a couple of days ago. Oh well, it was about as accurate as my grandma's rope weather gauge (when it's swinging it's windy and when it's wet it's raining). It couldn't even get the elevation/altitude right...and that hasn't changed since the glaciers retreated

As of today still no data in my area. Most apps i found are for buntu or windows. CTW looked ok but I was unable to get a location code from
www.weather.com.
Also tried to install ctw via slackbuilds, pkgtool, spkg, slapt-get with no success. Still a noob.

I run Fluxbox in SaliX. So I run a Arch Linux weather script for just the present days weather and display it in Conky.
My XFCE desktop on other Linux distros. I replaced xfce4-weather-plugin-0.8-1 with xfce4-weather-plugin-0.8-2
to fix the broken taskbar weather applet with the ? No data on it.
Might help, might not for you guys.

Thanks, but I decided to give up the weather applet. I'm tired of it breaking, fixing, breaking and fixing again. If I need to know what the weather is like outside, the NWS site is fine (or I could just stick my head out the door
