Pulseaudio installation

I've tried to install Pulseaudio by using spi.
During the installation I got the following info:
Running suite(s): Mix
0%: Checks: 1, Failures: 1, Errors: 0
tests/mix-test.c:218:F:mix:mix_test:0: Assertion 'fabs(uu - *v) <= 1e-6' failed
FAIL: mix-test
Does anyone have any idea of how to solve this problem?

I don't have a solution, but have you also checked the Slackware Wiki or forums for a solution?

Yes, I have. But I didn't find any solution or rather: no usable info at all. The reason why I try to install pulseaudio is to make skype work. Would it be a good idea to install an older version of Skype (dependent on alsa instead of pulseaudio)?

I can't help you out with Skype installation under Linux as I've never attempted to do so. I also have never attempted to compile Pulse Audio from source code, so I can't be of any help there either. You might consider checking out
Jitsi, a FOSS alternative. I can't speak for how well Jitsi works as I've never used it.

Thanks a lot guys!
I tried installing skype from the downloaded files and I will check out Jitsi.
However, I still got problem with "mix_test". Obviously the problem is not pulseaudio-dependency. My investigation continues....

After reading your opening post yesterday, I tried installing pulseaudio using spiyesterday and it built and installed without problems. Also did some googleing of your error message and didn't come up with anything that seems relevant.

The only possible cause of the problem I've found for now is my drivers.
