installation hangs while generating the fonts.cache-1

My computer is an optiplex 755 and the installation hangs while generating the font.cache-1. i cant even change to a different console, the whole systems hangs up. Any idea on how i can avoid this issue ?

This is a known problem, which occurs randomly on various systems. Often it works on second or third try, so please try again. Hopefully we have already fixed this in svn.

i can confirm this. I re-installed salix on my laptop and installation indeed froze on the font cache bit. On second try, installation went fine but the installer skipped the section where I get to choose whether I want to have my windows partitions mounted and where (no big deal as I have edited my fstab to deal with it.)
