Hi All,

I am experiencing a problem apparently without reason, was needing to scan a document today and my multifunction Canon MG3540 on Salix 14.1 KDE 32 bit always has been working properly tanking the packages made by Djemos.
Today, I get errors by all programs, this is the ouput:
- Scangear
error while loading shared libraries: libpangox-1.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Installed packages:
scangearmp-common-2.20-1.i386.txz
scangearmp-mg3500series-2.20-1.i386.txz

- Simple Scan and Skanlite (I did'nt test Xsane)
Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/conf.d/50-user.conf", line 14: reading configurations from ~/.fonts.conf is deprecated.
Please, is possible to solve this issue?

The libpangox library has never been part of Salix 14.1, so I don't see how it could have been working for you in 14.1. It was included in 14.0, so maybe it was working for you there and you are confused.

@ Gapan: yes please, maybe I am confused because I have been updating from 14.0 to 14.1.
Maybe the scanner was working before the update

In that case, it should probably work if you install the pangox-compat SlackBuild:

Code: Select all

sudo spi -i pangox-compat

Thank you very much Gapan, just installed it and Scangear works. Great!
